Decision of the National Commission of the FFR
Montpellier Hérault Rugby Club have welcomed the decision of the National Commission of the French Rugby Federation which, confirming the analysis of the first instance courts, has once again cleared the Club, being of the opinion that there was no element which established an alleged exceeding of what are known as the Salary Cap Regulations.
The Club is only sanctioned in appeal for failure to transmit accounts documents in the context of the audit, which demonstrates the unfounded and disproportionate nature of the charges which have been made against it since the beginning of these proceedings.
The Club will be looking at the appropriateness of filing an appeal on this latter point, but also with a view to being able to bring before a court the priority question of constitutionality upheld before the disciplinary bodies, which aims to allow a substantial improvement of the system.
Although firmly denouncing the circumstances of the audit conducted by the LNR, along with the terms of its charging, notably by means of targeted accusations in the press, the Club is reiterating its support for respect of the principle of sporting fairness and its complete commitment to the modernisation of the relevant bodies in the sport of Rugby.
