Member of the Paris Bar, Antoine VEY is a partner of the firm from 2015.
He has developed a particular expertise in criminal defence matters and business litigation, as well as in the defence of fundamental rights. He regularly appears before both lower and higher Criminal Courts.
In recent years, his main cases have been the representation of defendants before the Criminal Court (“Cour d’assises”) and before International Jurisdictions (Human Rights Committee of the United Nations, European Court of Human Rights). He has also appeared in many high-profile criminal proceedings abroad (Morocco, Algeria, United States, Cameroon, United Kingdom, Spain, Dominican Republic, etc.). He has acted for companies and their directors in cases of alleged financial or fiscal wrongdoings, as well as elected representatives in relation, for example, to the legislation governing mandatory declarations and the award of public contracts. He has also handled cases related to the art market (annulment of sales, defence of artists’ rights, counterfeit) and has experience of class actions, where he has represented groups of victims of financial fraud and of public health disasters.
Formerly elected Secrétaire de la Conférence des avocats du Barreau de Paris, at the end of an eloquent debating competition, Antoine VEY has a Master’s degree in General Private Law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, and a Master’s of Public Affairs from Sciences Po, Paris. He studied at Cambridge University, where he obtained an MA in law. He has maintained strong professional ties with the Bar of England and Wales, which has allowed him to be involved in extradition cases and in cross-border judicial cooperation.
Earlier in his career, he was an associate of Olivier METZNER and Patrice SPINOSI. He also worked in the litigation departments of some international law firms.
Since 2010, Antoine VEY is Maître de Conférence at Science Po and at the Bar School of Paris, where he lectures on Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Legal Argument.
He created an annual event called “La Nuit de l’Eloquence”, which draws together lawyers to celebrate rhetoric and eloquence art.
